    Name: Scrap Metal Sculpture
    Date: February 23, 2019
    Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST
    Event Description:
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and perhaps nowhere is this more evident than in scrap metal sculpture. Scrap metal sculptors take utilitarian pieces of metal and form them into sculptures. Like other visual artists, scrap metals sculptors focus more on the shape, line, and contour of an object and then can envision it’s repurposing. Mike Elliott’s sculptures are large-scale, such as a life-size bull elephant made from ventilation pipes, or the mermaid, who sports re-purposed hot water heaters, among other pieces of utilitarian scraps. His work is whimsical and playful. Come join Mike and watch him work his magic as he creates a new sculpture from scrap metal.
