Name: The Art of Radio Broadcasting
    Date: February 5, 2019
    Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM EST
    Event Description:
Have you ever wondered how radio works? What exactly has to happen so that a recorded song or a live voice in the studio can instantly travel to your home or car? How do regional and national satellite communications play into local radio programming? What’s it like to sit in a room talking by yourself, yet know that your voice is reaching thousands of people? How does one go about creating an advertisement for a local business? Who sings the station jingle? Who writes it? Where does the local weather information come from? Steve Masters, owner and operator of local radio station Sunny 97.3, has been in the radio business for over 45 years. He has been the recipient of numerous awards covering the full spectrum of operations, including recognition for his work as a broadcast engineer, station manager, program director and on-air talent. Join Steve as he answers all of these questions and more, starting with an overview of the radio world presented at Three Girls Bakery, followed by a tour of the Sunny 97.3 studios and an up-close look at all that goes into making a local radio station. Space is limited for this presentation, so pre-registration is required. Register in person or by phone at: Three Girls Bakery 106 N. Michigan Ave. in downtown Big Rapids 231-796-4822
